The Waud Wine Club had a fantastic evening at Gordon Ramsay’s Union Street Cafe enjoying the wines of Chateau Musar from Lebanon.
It was a treat to have Ralph Hochar, a member of the 3rd generation of the family that own Chateau Musar attending to guide 48 members and guests through the wines.
The Wines
After an aperitif of their Musar Jeune Rose 2015, we sat down for a 4 course meal accompanied by Musar White 2007, Musar Red 2009, Musar Red 2007 and then finally finishing with magnums of Chateau Musar 1996.
The top wines of the evening were the 2009 and 2007 reds.
Charity
After the main course we played a game of Heads and Tails, where Andrew Waterfield was the last man standing and won the magnum of Chateau Musar 2009. The game raised £440 for the London Air Ambulance charity.

We look forward to organising our next dinner, that looks to be with Samuel Guibert of Mas de Daumas Gassac in May 2017.
