We had a very enjoyable Corporate Wine Tasting with Gerald Eve at their offices at Welbeck Street, W1. This tasting was arranged as a networking event for their corporate team and Ashfords LLP.

The theme was set as an ‘Around the World Tasting’ where we pick some interesting wines from France, South Africa, Italy, Spain and Lebanon.

After a welcome drink of Mas de Daumas Gassac Rose Frizzant in magnum, we moved on to our Pierre Legras NV Brut Champagne. The crowd was pretty much split on whether they preffered the pink fizz, or the champagne.

The next wines tasted were the whites, where we had the Vondeling Babiana 2014 Chenin Blanc from South Africa, tried next to the fantastic Solosole Vermentino from Poggio al Tesoro in Tuscany.

Last up were the reds, our favourite Clos Pons Alges 2011 from Costers del Segre near Barcelona, followed by the wine of the night – Chateau Musar 2009 from Lebanon.

During the evening, the team that had the most comprehensive tasting notes won a magnum of Mas de Daumas Gassac Rose Frizzant.
