The shareholders of Waud Wine Club have been undertaking a series of tastings to select some great wines for the membership to purchase.

Back in May, the five directors of the club visited the London International Wine Fair at Excel centre where many wine suppliers from around the world were exhibiting.

It was a very enjoyable and constructive outing, as we found many wine suppliers at the fair who were without UK distribution channels.

We have received over 70 wines to sample, and we are currently dwindling the numbers down to around 20. We will then assess the commercial viability of the ones we like, and then offer the best and most interesting wines to the membership.

Our current favourites so far are Southern France – Launguedoc and Rhone, Northern Portugal’s Douro valley, Veneto in Italy, two new and interesting production areas in Spain including Costers del Segre in Catalunia and a number from California.
