Great fun with a virtual Spanish themed wine tasting with one of the AON teams and their clients.
With 12 screens on the call, we started with the Pazo de Barrantes Albarino 2018 from North West Spain. (owned by the same family that owns Marques de Murrieta.) This proved very interesting, as many guests thought that it tasted quite similar to Chardonnay, as there was a suggestion of oak on the palate. This wine was well received and received an average of 7.25 / 10 from the tasting panel.
Moving onto the Red, we head to Ribera del Duero with an offering from Bodega Figuero. This time we were tasting Figuero 15 2016. Tempranillo is the grape variety here – that is the same variety as with the more known region of Rioja.
Big, bold, smooth and velvety, this wine again went down well and received a very impressive average score of 8.3 / 10.
A very enjoyable tasting with a fun and knowledgeable crowd.
