Reinsurance broker Aon Benfield invited us to host a high end wine tasting for their clients at the Leadenhall Building (otherwise known as the Cheesegrater). It was a treat to show our premium wines to the forty guests.
– and we began the evening with our ever popular Mas de Daumas Gassac Rose Frizzant in magnum format.
Aside from the wines, we arranged for New Zealand rugby legend Sean Fitzpatrick to attend and speak at the event passing on some of his experiences of being in successful teams, what challenges that entailed, how to sustain high performance over a long period of time and some other anecdotes from behind the scenes.
We then broke into the main part of the wine tasting where the main battle that ensued was between Mas de Daumas Gassac of the Languedoc in France and Clos de L’Obac of Priorat in Spain. These were all fine wines and opinions were divided. Some guests clearly had a penchant towards Spanish wines, whilst others had palate’s that favoured the French. Although across the board, the final Clos de L’Obac 2005 was the clear favourite.
