Waud Wines were pleased to host our first wine tasting event with Ashfords LLP, a national provider of legal and professional services. They used this event as a networking opportunity with DFK International and to help build some connections with  like-minded people.

We held an Italian themed wine tasting at the Ashfords London offices with a great group of 25 people.

After starting with some bubbly on arrival – our Tenuta Amadio Asolo Brut Prosecco 2014, we moved on to Sicily where we enjoy the first white of the night – Tasca D’Almerita Bianco Regaleali 2016. This was then followed by one of our favourite Tuscan wines Frescobaldi Pomino Bianco 2016, which seemed to be very popular amongst the group.

After 2 the two stunning whites, we were onto the reds where we travelled to Puglia to show off one of our “very easy to drink” (according to the majority of the group) wines from the San Marzano estate. Cantina San Marzano – Il Pumo Negroamaro 2015.

Our next red was from Poggio al Tesoro in Tuscany – this Mediterra is made by the Allegrini family, another fabled family in Italy. We had some great tasting notes and feedback on this wine!

Lastly, San Marzano Riserva ‘Anniversario 62’ 2014. 100% Primitivo from Puglia. This wine has a opulent feel because of the classic label and is one of the heaviest bottles you will find.

Overall, the night was a great success. We had so much fun taking everyone through different regions of Italy and being able to discuss the subtleties of each wine. We really try and make every event we host fun, exciting, generally informal and enjoyable for everyone.
